The Chrysler Sebring always makes an interesting choice amongst all age groups of buyers, as far as a mid-sized vehicle is concerned. Since its entry into the market, some decades ago the Sebring is one of the few vehicles that have been a top seller. The latest 2008 models are designed by the manufacturer to impress buyers with its style and value. As last year, it was fully redesigned and the 2008 Chrysler Sebring is simply a carryover. Overall the new line-up is a higher-quality car with many interesting standard and optional features to behold and a roomy interior cabin as compared to its predecessor.
Types of transmission
There are four different trim levels, such as Base, Touring, Limited and Limited AWD. The Base Sebring model is equipped with a 2.4 liter DOHC 16-Valve 4-cylinder engine with variable valve timing (VVT), generating 173 horsepower and 166 lb.-ft. of torque, while that for the Touring model is a 2.7 liter DOHC 24-Valve MPI V6 engine with 189 horsepower and 191 lb.-ft. of torque. Limited models get power from a powerful 3.5-liter DOHC MPI V6 engine with 235 horsepower and 232 lb.-ft. of torque. As there are several engine choices and to make it compatible, it also comes with several types of transmission choices that correspond to each trim level. For the Base and Touring models, a four-speed automatic transmission is standard, while that for the limited models, one can get a more sophisticated 6-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick® manumatic shifting. Both the transmissions help a lot in giving a good gas mileage. As the prices of fuel are increasing in every two months time, the 2008 Chrysler Sebring engine seems a much better option with the transmissions offered, as they help to give a good fuel economy.
So far, it will not be wrong to say that the Chrysler Sebring transmission makes the new car worth considering, particularly if you're looking for an affordable mid sized vehicle.
